Roar and Thunder

Posted: September 13, 2010 in Uncategorized

A reprint of my story “The Last Tiger” is online now in the inaugural edition of the Australian speculative fiction e-zine Roar and Thunder.

This story first appeared in issue 14 of the Hugo Award winning ‘zine Electric Velocipede in May 2008.

The editor of Roar and Thunder has chosen for the time being to remain anonymous, going only under the name of “Editor M”.  M has good reasons for doing this; still, with every writer and editor in Cyberspace clamouring for recognition and attention, I found M’s decision curious.

Could this be a sign of things to come?  Is it the start of a backlash against our culture of celebrity, our insistence on pursuing, however undeservedly, our 15 minutes of fame?

Or am I over thinking things, as usual?

Doesn’t Roar and Thunder look wonderful? The anonymous editor eh? Spooky… some old guy addicted to morphine and hooked up to an iron-lung, I imagine.
